Understanding Challenges

The global quick-service hamburger chain sought to improve efficiency and accuracy by transitioning from manual to automated testing. They needed a comprehensive automation framework to handle both visual and functional testing across various devices and resolutions.

This included maintaining and enhancing automated scripts, developing a robust mobile automation framework, and automating regression and smoke suites for iOS, Android, and Mobile Web platforms. Automating visual testing across four different screen resolutions was also a key objective.

Solutions and Activities

Our expert team began by setting up the initial repository and automation framework. We automated the Android smoke suite and the iOS smoke suite, enabling comprehensive coverage across both the US and Canadian markets. Additionally, we integrated the automation into the client's device farm, detailed reporting systems, and CI/CD pipeline.

To further enhance efficiency, we automated the Android and iOS regression suites, providing extensive testing across the US and Canadian markets. To enhance the visual testing capabilities, we automated visual regression for key screens across four different resolutions.

We consistently maintained the automated suites to adapt to new features and updates. By proactively integrating with the client's development team, we facilitated seamless communication and efficient problem-solving, ensuring all deliverables were completed on time and often ahead of schedule.

Strengthening bonds and effective communication are key for us. That’s why, throughout the project, we conducted monthly demos to keep stakeholders updated and engaged.

Results and Achievements

Our collaboration with the quick service restaurant company led to substantial improvements in their software testing processes. Key accomplishments include:

    Enabled a seamless migration to new banking software by identifying 250 incidents prior to go-live, 25% of which were high severity and 18% critical, resulting in a frictionless end-user experience. Drastically reduced full regression cycle time, cutting it down from seven business days to just 50 minutes for over 300 test cases.
